You can stretch it out....my valves are usually fine every time i check them, as long as they aren't too tight, they are probably ok, and when they get too loose you can here a loud clicking sound coming from the head. For the head bolts, use automotive grade lock tite, and it should hold them pretty good...just be REALLY careful with that torque wrentch because its easy to snap one of the studs.
